Vinyl Pasting on Sunboard
We will try to learn the ways to paste vinyl on to the sunboard. Customers often do ask us how can we directly paste vinyl on to the wall. Why there is a need to first paste it on to the sunboard, PVC sheets, acrylic etc and then mount it on the wall. Answer goes like this vinyl is just like paper sticker though it is made of plastic. Advantage over paper sticker is that it last for longer duration of time and it is non tearable. Vinyl requires plain smooth surface to hold on to for longer duration of time. We can no doubt paste it on to the wall but wall both with distemper or paint is a rough surface & not of smoothness desired for vinyls. This will result into it getting peeled off as with rust and roughness adhesive won't stay for that long.
That is the reason why printers like us ask you to mount it on sunboard this is not just another gimmick of making money. Printers are not taken correctly these days. Pasting directly on to the panel or wall is OK if you are participating in an events, exhibition etc for say 2-3 days. If your exhibitor allow you to paste it then you can go ahead with it. It is worth mentioning here that this once removed and pasted, can't be removed & reused again. This is where it is different from flex which although do not come with the adhesive like vinyl but can be rolled back in and reused.
